Honeymoon Pool
Honeymoon Pool is a very popular camp ground is set along the banks of the Collie River and shaded by graceful peppermint trees and an overstorey of jarrah and marri eucalypts. A large deck extending out over the river offers good views, with steps providing easy access to the water. Honeymoon Pool has has 20 individual campgrounds for tents and small campervans only. Four sites are suitable for a single small tent, three for two small tents, eight for a large tent and five for two large tents. Each has an adjacent space for one (or, in some cases, two) vehicles, which could be a small campervan. Most sites have wood barbeques and picnic tables. There are gas barbeques in the adjacent day use area for the use of all visitors. Untreated water is provided from taps around the campsite, but it is not suitable for drinking. Kids will enjoy spotlighting at night with a torch – they’re bound to spot a possum, owl or frog. From Honeymoon Pool there are several bush walking and mountain bike tracks to enjoy. CAMPFIRES It is always a good idea to pack a small gas camp stove in case of a fire ban. Even though there are some gas barbecues, if a fire ban applies the barbecues may be crowded and it may mean a lengthy wait. Campfires are usually permitted, in the provided fire rings only, between April 15 and November 30 but fire restrictions may be imposed at any time and without notice. Bring your own firewood. Camp fires are allowed between the hours of 6pm and 10am and are to be contained in the designated fire pits only – not on open ground. Please clear the area around the pit to prevent a bush fire. When fire restrictions are in place campfires must not be lit and any appliance powered by burning solid fuel must not be used. Always comply with any instructions at campgrounds and parks. Campers´ own liquid or gas fuel barbeques, stoves and heaters can be used at any time, unless a total fire ban has been declared (see Department of Fire and Emergency Services).
